Re:Nursery themes

I don't have kids yet, but I wouldn't use a character theme. I've seen some baby stuff like pink and brown and they're so cute, so it would be pink and brown for a girl and blue and brown for a boy.

My cousin Libby's nursery was like pink and red or it may have been pink and a darker pink. The top half of the wall was darker and the bottom is lighter with vertical rectangles of the darker pink.

My nursery was sesame street theme, I had striped wallpaper, and my brother's was winnie the pooh.

This is really very nice.. What I have done in my daughter room is that I have applied the barbie theme and she likes it very much.. You can also look forward to such theme.. And for boys you can choose the jungle theme.. What you think about it?

babybird ~ I am expecting baby #2 and planning to do more earth tones this time too. Whether a boy or girl, it doesn't matter. The colors will be calming. I have had a great time finding hidden treasures at thrift stores and am working to restore them for his/her new room. (Pinterest will give you tons of ideas too!) I really only have to purchase a new toy chest and rocker. Everything else was 2nd hand / refurbished!

I am 17 weeks and we're finding out the gender in less than 3 weeks
We are doing a black and white damask theme and black with white polkadot fabric accents (similar to the picture in the link below except no pink). I prefer a classic elegant style!

Also, I am making all the bedding and curtains so the only difference in the style will be more ruffles for a girl, more straight edges for a boy. Both go with our black crib, white refinished vintage dresser and nightstand, dark wooden floors, shag ivory area rug and creamy beige walls. I'd also like to get a decal to put behind the crib and an ornate mirror that my hubby can refinish in glossy black to match the crib!

One of my best friends also did a woodland theme and it is sooo cute. She painted a tree on the wall and 2 owls are sitting on a branch, there is a fox painted on the wall near the ground and all the colors coordinate throughout the nursery.
