I have never had to take my babies to the hospital for them being hurt or sick, but yesterday that changed Kate woke up around 4 am and had a cough that I had never heard coming from her. We sat in the bathroom with the shower on hot so that the steam would help her, and it wasn't. Her breathing rapidly declinded so I took her to the ER while Josh was home with Mia. They took her right away and hooked her up to an IV for some fluids, they got her breathing back to normal and determined that my poor baby has the croup So, we went home to rest for the day.

Then my crazy 2 year old, Mia, decided she wanted to go outside with daddy and play. Which was fine, I stayed in with my sick little girl Kate and read some books. All of a sudden I hear Josh yell my name and I threw Kate in her crib and ran downstairs. Mia was running, tripped and fell, hit her elbow and smashed her head off the tar. She had a HUGE bump immediately and her elbow was really bad. So I picked her up and brought her in the house and cleaned her up to only find out her cut was really deep on her elbow. Then she started throwing up, which I knew was a sign of a concussion. So we called my mom, she came over and watched Kate and we took Mia to the ER.

As soon as we walked in they couldn't believe I was in for my second trip of the day. We had the same nurses and same doctors as we did earlier that morning with Kate. My poor baby girl ended up getting 7 stitches in her elbow and had a mild concussion. They wanted to keep Mia in the hospital for a night just because she was so little to have a concussion and to just make sure nothing happened with her head throughout the night. So we got home this morning around 10 am. Yesterday was a rough day in our house. But today we are doing much better. Mia and Kate have just been lounging on the couch watching Mickey Mouse together, hopefully we don't ever have to do that again! I hate seeing my babies sick/hurt

OMG! That's a story to tell when they get older! Hope everyone is on the mend, and things get back to normal real soon. Hang in there!

I'm glad Mia and Kate are on the road to recovery.

My uncle and his girlfriend, had their little girl in the ER on Friday morning (Australian time) with a 12 hour bug, but little Scarlett couldn't keep any food or water down. She fell asleep on the bed in the ER so Amanda had to stay with her until she woke.

awrh, hope they have a speedy recovery.
Im going to dread for the day something like that happens to Daycee or the triplets.

Oh my gosh, that's terrible! I really hope they recover soon. I'll hope for the best for your little girls.

I hope the best for Mia and Kate. It's always so scary when a little girl gets sick. But they have you and Josh, they'll be fine.

I'm sick, too, right now, with stomach flu or something else like that. It's awful. I was supposed to have my birthday party tomorrow. I understand how Kate feels.
