Cooling Down Baby's Room (1 viewing) (1) Guest
Re:Cooling Down Baby's Room By Angeldolllogic 11 Months, 2 Weeks Ago No, no, no! Why on earth are you shopping for this on the internet?! You'll have to wait (God only knows how long) for them to process your order and ship it to you. Plus, you'll have to pay the shipping on that thing, and it's heavy!
Go to the stores! Look on the internet first if you want to try and get an idea of what you want to buy, but go to the store. You'll be able to get one today, not 2 weeks from now. You should look at the window units instead of that portable thing. They should be less expensive and cover more area. You can get one that has a thermostat and a remote control. If you really want a portable one though, they do have those at the stores too. I saw several at Lowes last night. I had to buy a window air/heat unit for our pool house.

Re:Cooling Down Baby's Room By Shann 11 Months, 2 Weeks Ago How hot is the average day there at the moment? Just curious
I was thinking about this last night, and if it is extremely hot there and a fan just won't cut it, maybe the AC unit should go in the hallway and the baby's door left open (if the room is off a hallway), to keep the baby out of the direct airflow, as I think the other ladies may have suggested

Re:Cooling Down Baby's Room By emily. 11 Months, 2 Weeks Ago Angel, where I live in Australia (mind you its at the bottom of Australia) we live through that temperature most summers. Usually around 35 degrees Celsius which is 95 Fahrenheit. But last summer was a wet one so I don't think it got past 28 Celsius or 82 Fahrenheit.
Also have the blinds always drawn helps keep the heat out. Use the fan in the room anyway, it will help cool the room (I have my fan in my room and it keeps it surprisingly cool without the aircons on).

Re:Cooling Down Baby's Room By Angeldolllogic 11 Months, 1 Week Ago Hey, Emily! Hope you're feeling better!
I think I probably didn't explain myself well. I agree 95 degrees is hot, but what I was trying to say was it's already reached 109 degrees in Arizona (around 101 degrees in Texas) and we haven't even reached out summer yet! Our hottest month is August, so we still have 2 months to go before we reach our peak temps. Now I don't know about you in Australia, but 115 degrees with no humidity (Arizona), or 105 degrees with 100% humidity (Texas) is a lot different. Mostly because it never cools down even at night. When I lived in Europe it would get hot (95 or so), but it would cool down substantially at night, so things could start over the next day. Our lows are usually never below 85 in Texas, and I dread to think what they are in Arizona, Nevada, and Death Valley, CA where temps are already expected to reach 115 in a couple of days. Enjoy your cool front!
