My name is Emily Brooke and i absolutely hate it... i want to change it to Victoria Rai becuase ive been told i look like a Victoria and Rai means lightning and thunder and i luv watching storms on my front porch... sometimes i even climb into a tree or sit in the front or back yard lol... wdyt ?... keep the ugly name and hate it forever or change it when i turn 18 and become a happy person

If your parents wanted you to change your name or it was awful I'd understand! My 2nd middle name is Pebbles.. no lie.. My parents want me to change it to Penelope, I just haven't yet and don't know if I will. If it was something like that or Wiggy or Curly Wurly I'd understand!

It's up to you. But I wouldn't unless you really very much hate your name and can't live with it.

Please listen I am a grandmother of 12 just love the name my grandaughters name we call her Emma for short ,the name becomes you so endearing and lovely, but if you are so misserable change it but you will still be a Emily , God has given.

I dont exactly like my name but i wouldnt change it, i was named after a great aunt or cousin of mine on my mums side of the family, yes Eleanor is outdated for a 16 year old girl but i go around telling people to call me Elly because i prefer that so what about using a nickname for you name or using your middle name?

I wish I had your name though! Everyone will say its beautiful. But in five years I'm changing mine, too. I probably will keep my first name as a middle name, though.
My first name is Reine. I hate it! I hate it even more when people say its so pretty! Who cares if it means queen in French? Who pronounces a name "rainy"! I am in middle school, and believe me, I so understand. And if you have a unique name, no one expects it from the dirty blonde, blue-green eyed average American teenager, they expect it from the kids from other ethnicities.
I want to cry sometimes. My parents will not change it. Couldnt I have been one of the twenty Madisons and ten Emilys in my grade? They may say keep it. But there are many more names out there that people cam pronounce without another kid with the same name. Kira, Kyra (kye-ra), Alia, Layla, Kiana, Madelia, Lilliana, Lillian, Lily, Shiva, Skye, Autumn, Summer, Ziana, Liana, Min, Ella... I do not know anyone with those names.

People make mistakes. Many parents won't learn from them. You've put a lot of thought into it. A name is an imprint for life. It should fit you.
