By Nellieag 5 Months, 4 Weeks Ago I mean we usually get the girls American Girl Dolls and some outfits for the dolls so this year they'll only get 2 dolls, the ipads, and these kiddie digital cameras.

Re:Ipads for Christmas By emily. 5 Months, 4 Weeks Ago WHAT?! Are you serious?
I hate seeing little kids with technology. They should be outside, riding their bikes and having fun with their friends. Not holding an iPad and sitting down being sedentary. When I was 4, I was getting a new bike for Christmas, maybe a DVD I wanted, but nothing like this. You're saying your young children already have iPods? Is that what an iTouch is, iPod touch? Because if so, I didn't even get my first discman/mp3/ipod til I was 14. Not 4.

Re:Ipads for Christmas By Celianne 5 Months, 4 Weeks Ago I wouldn't. I mean yeah, kids love them (who wouldn't?), but I'm kinda with Emily on this one. My family didn't have a video game system other than our computer until I was 13, and none of us sit around playing video games, whereas other kids who have had them their whole lives do. It's good for them to be introduced to the technology by you and learn how to use it and such, but having their own should be reserved as a responsibility, a privilege, not a right.
But it sounds like technology is a bigger part of your household than mine, so if you feel it's the best thing for your kids then go for it.

By Nellieag 5 Months, 3 Weeks Ago Well I mean my kids are big on the outdoors. All the kids are in after school activities that involves some type of physical activy. ,Its just in the winter or after everyone has had a really stressful day its easier/healthier. Also we dont watch tv. We have 3 tvs in the whole house and one of them doesn't even have cable its only for our Wii and Xbox.

By klairesmommy 5 Months, 3 Weeks Ago Some kids don't have the option of going outside all the time. This summer it was well over 100 degrees where we live most days it was 110+ so my 3 year old outside was not an option. We really don't have a good fall time it goes from hot to cold with no in between. A few weeks ago it was in the 90's and now it is supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow. She did get to go out on days that it was below 100 but those days don't come very often. We have to have something to entertain her while she stays inside and technology is about the only thing that will keep her attention for more than 5 minutes. She goes to gymnastics and dance but those are only once a week. She colors and plays with toys too but that only works for so long. I think the Ipads are a good idea if the kids can take care of them. Just my opinion though.
