I would really wanna try a water birth, because I do believe that it is less traumatic for the baby and better pain relief for the mother. Unfortunately, the hospital that I am going to give birth at, does not have water birth.

And I agree with Justins1favmom, I think it is a lot safer to give birth in a hospital. I've watched a lot of home birth videos on YouTube, and I just don't think it is the way I feel secure to give birth.

Didn't Irene post this 1 year ago. Why does it pop up now? Do questions just reappear in 1 year cycles. This is the third one year old question I have noticed here in the last 2 days. Irene is trying to present a forum here, so of course she will post questions of interest, to steer conversations, and open dialogues we may not think of ourselves. I appreciate you being here to guide us Irene.

Thank You.

I'm glad this post got brought back up because I have been considering a water birth too. I know how good a warm bath feels now so I can imagine how nice it will feel during L&D. I've watched some videos of it and it looks very soothing and calming for both mom and baby. I have a dr.'s appt tomarrow and I'm going to see if the hospital offers it.

Hi girls,

I find water birth to be a fascinating topic and had considered creating an article about it for the site. I thought asking experienced mothers would be a good starting point. Moderators are allowed to post questions as well

I've heard that water births do great things for the pain, which would be great for me since I have pledged to have a drug free birth. I'm considering water birth, but need to learn more about it first. Baby's are born natural swimmers, so what kinds of complications could occur? <--- Me asking.
