naming a baby after "gijsbertha"
By Ima 3 Years, 11 Months Ago
Trying to find a name for an expected baby girl. We want to name her after mother, whose name is Gijsbertha - Bertha for short. We've finally come up with two names, Roberta or Liberty - both as a second name. We like the first names Justine/Justina, Selene, Julissa, Carissa, Joella.
Does any one with some naming savvy have any ideas on what sounds nice together, or any new suggestions??

Here are some names using some of the letters of Gijsbertha:
Gia
Sera
Beth
Sage
Brigit/Briget or Bridget
Gabi
Rae
Sabra

For your first names I like Carissa. Julissa sounds somewhat like my name Telisa.

What about Marissa?

General rule of thumb ... short first name, longer second name and vice versa. So Roberta and/or Liberty being 3-syllables need at least a 2-syllable first name. Liberty has a nice sound for a second name.
You've got Justine and Selene which would go:
Justine Liberty
Tina Liberty
Caron Liberty
Joss Liberty
Zara Liberty
Selene Roberta (Selene's 'L'-sound too close to 'L' of Liberty)
Danyel Roberta
Layne Roberta
Leigh Roberta
Joelle Roberta
Jodee Roberta
Tahnee Roberta

Or mix 'n match where the name doesn't end in an "ee" sound for Liberty.

just off top of my head, hopefully can help!
