I have said this before so most people are probably tired of hearing it, but I grew up with a boyish name and I have been mistaken for a boy constantly by banks, employers, everywhere I give my name before they meet me. I wouldn't give my daughter a boy name just because of all the confusion it causes. Austin would be a cute middle name.

I did a quick bit of research for you. Austin is less popular for a girl than Austyn,Austine & Austynaand if it was my child with possible problems in later life (AubreyM I never took you for anything but female, funny ) I would definitely go for Austyna with Tina as a nn.
wdyt?

There was a girl in my high school named Austen...I always thought it was cute, even back then. I thought the e spelling was a little more feminine. She was kind of a tom boy but not extreme

I ABSOULUTLY LOVE THE NAME AUSTIN FOR A GIRL. I ACTUALLY HAD AUSTYN PAIGE FOR A GIRL PICKED OUT IN MY SECOND PREGNANCY THE BABY TURNED OUT TO BE A BOY. BUT WE COULDN'T FIND A BOY NAME WE LIKED AS WELL SO WE ENDED UP NAMING HIM AUSTIN PERRY(JUST BECAUSE WE LIKED THE NAME AUSTIN SO MUCH).I LIKE UNISEX NAMES FOR GIRLS. IN THE END IT IS YOUR CHILD AND WHAT YOU LIKE. SO GO WITH YOUR HEART AND DON'T LET SOMEONE TURN YOU OFF OF A NAME YOU REALLY LIKE. GOOD LUCK
