Congrats on the twins, but sorry alls not going well on the name discussion. Hang in there, it takes give and take on both sides to come up with the perfect name.

I can relate with his view on the name in the professional world. I have a niece that we call Max. Her mom loved the name Maxine, but knowing that her daughter may grow up and not like the name in the profession she was in, gave her the first name of Erin and Maxine as her middle name and we have always called her by her middle name. But should she become a lawyer or something along those lines when she is an adult, she always has the name Erin to refer to if she chooses.

I think you both could comprimise in that aspect, with giving the kids a name that is sophisticated to use in their profession if they choose, but giving the name you absolutely love that is not per say professional in your husband's book as a middle name and using that as the name you call them.

With that said, I think Erin is a nice name for a girl. By the way, her sister's name is Samantha (one of your hubby's choices).
