This is one of the first compromises you will have to make, in parenthood. Hopefully, you can remedy this problem without playing the Bully game, and one of you wants to be on a pedestal, lowering the others status. Why not make a game out of this. Every night, set a time, say 9:00 p.m. you each go to a quiet spot in the house, have 15 minutes of solitude, and write down five girl names, and five boy names,(with short descriptives/rationale) then, give eachother the name lists (NO TALKINg) go back to spot, contemplate, and study eachothers name list and rationale. Then select 3 best names on your mates list, and get togethet to discuss calmly. One at a time read #1 name, etc. Save slips of paper, and at end of week, narrow it down to top three names. Remember, it takes teamwork to be parents. This may sound silly, but its all about respecting eachother, and taking on responsibility maturely. Absolutely NO RAISING VOICES, or Bullying allowed. Keep doing this for as long as it takes. Do you want certain initials, theme to names, rhymning names, etc, Suggest this to him tonight, and surprise him with new method of sharing. Hope you enjoy this time focused on your family. We always had family time for 15 mins, at 9:00 p.m. when kids were little, to have discussions. Doing this now, helps you focus on the family, and pondering your family needs. Remember, you are doing this in Love. All the best.
