I was looking on the babynames . com website and seached 'ELLA"...I saw ELLASYN pop up too. Ellasyn is kind of like Allyson...I liked it as a formal name, thought it was unique, than she could be called the ever popular ELLA for short. OPINIONS

Hi I have friends who named their daughter Ariella pronounced 'arrie ella'. I really like this name. It means lioness of God. Cool name.

I like the name.
I also know how some Americans, maybe depending on locale, pronounce the "E" in some names/words (I was told quite forcefully by one a couple of weeks ago, when I posted "Beryl" for a friend. This ... lady ... said: "It's awful! It sounds like BARREL!" (which kinda stunned me )

So how would you pronounce it, if you are American?
Sorry, on here we can get a sort of language/accent-breakdown!
