Nap Time!
By I love my justin, carter 3 Years, 9 Months Ago
I had made a early post called "How to get a 13 month old to sleep?" Because I was having issues on getting him to sleep xause the only way he would fall to sleep was if I nursed him and he fall a sleep on the breast and I wanted to know how to put him a sleep without it because I wanted to start weaning. well I ended up taking pope3 advice, she told me to nurse him for about five minuetes keeping him awake then lay him down tell him good night and I love him. Well needless to say this worked like wonders!and he didnt cry that long and know doesnt cry at all amd I dont even have to nurse him before I lay him down I just cuddle with him instead. Well my question is yes nighttime worked great but it doesnt work for nap time in fact nursing him to sleep for nap time doesnt work anymore either. And since my husband works nights and sleeps during the day its hard to let him cry (more like scream). Do any of you have any suggestions on how I could get him to go to sleep for nap time? I also would like for him to learn to put himself to sleep without being dependent on something or someone else putting him to sleep. Any suggestions would be just great!

Is your nap time routine the same as your bed time routine? I have heard it helps to make the routines exactly the same. I know it helps me, but I am also still breastfeeding. I am considering weaning at 2 years, but I am still not sure.

I just meant as far as putting his pj's on and brushing his teeth and reading a book (if you do that). Some people don't do pj's at night etc. I have read that it can help their mind set to get ready for sleeping if you follow the same nap time routine as night time.

If your already doing that then I'm not sure what else to suggest. My daughter is hit or miss at sleep time, some times it's easy and some times its not.

Well my son is 2 years old, I give him a light lunch at about 12.30, then between 1.30 and 2, I make a bottle and we settle down in front of the tv, he's asleep in about 20 min because he has a full stomach and tv makes them sleepy. Everyone I know with a small child makes as if they're going to sleep too for the afternoon nap, and then get up as soon as the child sleeps, try to get a routine it's important

Below is a link to another post regarding Babies and Toddlers and watching TV. I am not being judgemental, but I didn't know this until my pediatrition told me so I am just passing it on as information for you to do with what you wish.
