Are you planning on naming her a "nickname" or a name that has a nickname. I know that was kind of confusing, but my name is Katie, JUST Katie, and everyone asks me what my real name is or what Katie is short for and in elementary school my teacher told me that i had to write out my full name - no nicknames (but Katie IS my full name). It gets really annoying, especially for a child to contiuously have to explain that. At least that is how i feel.

I have Katie Alexis, Katie Madison, Katie Nicole, and Katie Noelle on my baby name list. Someone told me I should go with Katherine and use Katie as a nickname but I love the name Katie not Katherine. I do prefer Samantha, Madison, and Madelyn rather than just nicknames though.

i didnt know till is i was in my late teens that Katie was actually a nickname, i thought kaite was a name like Stacey etc.

i've never heard people mistaking katie asa nickname.

i've met a few nasty Katies in my life so im not too kean on it but i do love samantha,alexis, madelyn,madison.

I meant to say that while I love the names Samantha, Madison, and Madelyn I would prefer using these as full first names and calling her Sam/Sami or Maddie as a nickname. But with Katie I think the name is beautiful on it's own. By the way, I am not pregnant yet. I'm only thinking of baby names. I guess Maddie is fine on it's own too but I love the name Madison.
