I have never heard this before, but my little brother is the third of four and he blows the rest of us out-of-the-water. He's more successful in every single way, personally, financially, socially, acedemically etc.

Anyone who doesn't know him would think he was from a different family because he's so much more advanced then the rest of us (including parents)

I dont think it matters which child you are...first,second or third.. I think it just depends on the child themselves and how hard they are willing to work.Noticed nobodys come on here and said "oh my brother has a great job and im the crappy kid?" LOL.... I would say my sister has a better shot at being more successful than me, shes younger and still in school but applies herself like i didnt in school..and gets better grades than i did.Theres only me and her- and my guess would be SHE will be more succesful.However i WILL always have the better looking husband and cuter kids.lol.

my oldest sister (#1) is irresponsible, has a part time seasonal job, and is just next month finally moving out of my parents house. she also has a very severe case of happy bunny syndrome (self centered to death). she has 2 kids, one she put for adoption, the other in foster care, and is not with either father.

my next sister (#2) is a very responsible, kind caring lovely girl. she is a devout christian and a great friend. she is a recent nursing school grad and has a great job, she has her own house, and is getting married in may 2010 to my second favourite man ever. i would say she has done the best.

me (#3) i am the 'black sheep', i have never been good at doing what im told. i met my husband at 14, i left home at 16 because my mom hated him. we did pretty much everything backwards. i am 21, he is 23, we have 2 kids. we just got married last december. we have mananged to both finish high school and he is an electrical engineer. we have money in the bank, own our house outright (trust fund money), and savings accounts for both kids. s my mom has just decided my husband is not the devil in the past year or so. i am a cancer survivor as well. i am doing good, because im still alive.

my twin sister (#4) is pretty good. finished high school, but is still unsure of what she wants to do. she shares a house with another single friend, and is living the party life right now. she is sustaining herself, and will be fine once she knows what she wants.

my baby brother (#5) is almost 19. he has ADHD and asperger syndrome. he is trying to make it on his own, so determined to be independant, but has moved in and out of our parents house a few times. he is a nice boy, but he needs some help figuring out priorities and what he needs to have and do for himself. he is doing good for a 19 year old.

it might depend on how you define "success".
