Interestingly, I was reading up about premature birth too, because I have the same concern as yours, Natalia. One of my friends, who recently just gave birth to her preemie daughter at 31 weeks, told me that even doctors cannot be certain about the causes of premature birth. She said that once the placenta is mature and ready to fall off, your baby will have to come. And if you have previous premature birth, it is also likely that you will have it again. But I am not sure how accurate my friend's information is.
I do know that twins are likely to be born prematurely. And many premature babies survive fantastically. It just needs some extra medical and emotional care. I know if our babies happen to be preemies, it will be horrible to see them in NICU with all these equipments and stuffs. But they will soon be mature and heavy enough to come home with us, so let's not worry about it too much.
