my daughter did not have to stay in the nicu but she was a month early my nephew had to stay in the nicu overnight but usually they will let you in to see the babies as much as you want to and you can take pictures depending on the condition of the babies the hospital will either let you touch or hold the babies.

having babies in nicu is hard. the best thing you can do for them is to make sure you are well rested so you can help as much as possible. kangaroo care is the best, it really helps you to bond. its hard to see them with all the wires and stuff, but it is for the best. the worst for me was when my daughter had an IV in her head. take lots of pictures, even tho the wires arent pretty, they will only be this little for such a short time. my girl went from 2 pound 9 oz to 24.5 pounds in her first year, its amazing how fast they grow. kiss them and talk to them. read them stories. they will start to respond to them. good luck, before you know it they will be going home with you.

sorry havent been on in a while been busy with the boys....they seem to be progressing more now and have grown, they are getting put into a lower care room within the next few days so hopefully they can keep improving and will be home in no time
