Hi proudmummy, i am also a stay at home mum with a 19 month old little boy and sometimes it is a bit of a struggle and yeah sometimes we do live from paycheck to paycheck but at the end of the day we are sooo happy and most importantly my son is happy. So if you think you can survive with only one salary then go for it, i love knowing that i'm not missing out on anything my son does or says and if i'm feeling tierd Ryder (my little angel) and i take a nap on the couch at 1 o'clock and i love it.

IT WORKS FOR US !!! MY HUSBAND AND I ARE BOTH COLLEGE STUDENTS AND ARE BOTH IN OUR EARLY 20'S AND WE LIVE OFF ONE SALARY . WHILE HE GOES TO WORK AND SCHOOL I DO THE MOMMY THING PLUS SCHOOL . THINGS CAN GET A LITTLE CRAZY SOMETIMES BUT FOR THE MOST PART WERE JUST FINE AND WE BOTH ADORE OUR LITTLE COOKIE MONSTER HE'S ONE. I THINK IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOU GUYS AND ALSO ON YOUR HUSBAND'S INCOME . MY HUBBY WORKS IN SALES AND HE'S AWESOME AT WHAT HE DOES!!! SO I'VE NEVER HAD TO WORRY!!

i am a stay at home mum, at least until the youngest ones are in school. we are not struggling at all, due to some wise financial choices (investments, stock options, savings) we are doing quite well. i am a SAHM to a 3 year old, a 3 month old and twins on the way. i am 21 almost 22 and my husband is 23.

Just because a mother works does not mean some else is raising her child and that she puts money a head of her family. My daughter is the most important thing in the world to me and will always come first in my life.

Going back to work after my daughter was born was the hardest thing I have ever done and the hardest thing I do every day; but that does not make me any less of a mother or make her any less of a priority in my life.

Sorry if this sounds like a rant, it is not meant to be. It just really hurts me when I hear people say things like that. I have nothing against stay at home Moms; it is just not for me.

Sincerely,

A working Mommy

P.S. I apology for intruding on this post; I know my response has nothing to do with the original question.

Hello,

I am a stay at home mum to three boys under the age of 4 and another on the way. My husband works hard to provide for us and we all manage of his wage. He has a good job and we still have money left over to splash out on our lovely boys.
We save up all year for christmas and give the boys a birthday party. We have never really struggled but that is because my husband hasnt stopped working i worked as a nurse but took some years of since i had my first and won't be going back for awhile.

The adivce i have got it, if someone wants to be a stay at home mum go for it, it is so rewarding to see your children progress through life.
I agree with HL1 i would want to raise them by myself.
