if this is how he treats a child that can speak and let people know what's happening, then what does he do to the one that can't? I would do everything I could to get both children away from him. It sounds like he's more interested in partying than being a parent. Your niece is being abused, period end of story. Now the question is are you going to be the people who help her or are you going to enable him by leaving her there and just taking her when its convenient for him? As far as finances go it sounds like you're already pretty much supporting her by taking her with you, feeding and clothing her. I'm not sure how much more you would be spending but it can't be substantially more. If you don't take her and she is taken away (which may happen if a teacher or other outside adult gets involved)then she will have lost her entire family. I'm not trying to be harsh but you have the chance to truly make a difference in a child's life and give her a real shot at growing up to be the best person she possibly can. Good luck to you, you and your niece are in my prayers.

I would suggest you talk to this parent, as he wants you to take her, that you will, only if you can ADOPT her. He must relinquish any visitation, and you become sole custodians of this child ... but do this through the court, so you have something legal. This is definitely something you want your husband to consent with, as it does effect his life, and the two of you definitely want to be in harmony. Talk it out with hubby, and consider all your options.

Ok im going to give my honest blunt opinion onn what I would do. Honestly I wouldnt sit back and watch this I would imediately call child services and get custody of her. She is like part of you anyway. But never say anything to anyone just your hubby and when you have her check her body for bruises and take a picture and record in a journal everything that happens. please pm me if you need help or more advice If you dont get her out of there soon you may regret not doing it please dont let anything bad happen to her
