Little one not really eating
By JarodFairyMom 3 Years, 7 Months Ago
Hi, my little boy (nearly 21months) is not really eating-he had a good appetite when he was younger-it seems since he turned a year he doesn't want to eat. There are days (few) that he will have breakfeast, lunch and supper. Most of the time he has breakfeast and either lunch or supper, sametimes just a bit for breakfest and not wanting lunch or supper. I would appreciate it for some tips on how to get him to eat more.

My advice is to not push him, all of you sit at the table and put a empty plate in front of him. Put your dinner or lunch etc. on the table, spoon into it and put it on your plates and start eating. He will start watching you all and will ask for some. When it is on his terms he will eat. It's a way to show control on his part, he's growing up and can be a stuborn little thing. PM me and let me know if this helps.

They say that kids will eat when they are hungry they will not starve themselves. My daughter is 23 months and i have noticed in the past few weeks that she is "trying" to become a picky eatter and not eatting what i put infront of her (I think she just wants to take control its her age). I tell her that is all she is getting for dinner and if she chooses not to eat it then i put it in the fridge so when she does ask for food later thats what she gets but there are days where she really doesn't eat and days i have to lock the pantry and fridge. I think its just a fase as long as he is not looseing weight i wouldn't worry about it!

Sometimes my little guy (17 months) will drink his calories in milk. He will drink 3 glasses before lunch time and 2 after supper! You may want to watch what you are giving him to drink and how filling it is. my little guy also waits until almost everyone is done eatting before he will start to eat.
