How did the negotiation go - was this a satisfactoy conclusion to an issue? What are some examples, of when you relied on Negotiation to solve an issue with your child?

Re:Negotiations.................................. By DONE GOODBYE genevra 3 Years, 6 Months Ago awhh, that is so sweet that she wants to be there with you, but yet, wants to be discreet, and give mom privacy. What a support you have in your little one. Thanks for sharing.

Re:Negotiations.................................. By puck 3 Years, 6 Months Ago bath time. this one happens alot. she is a messy kid, so has a bath at least every other day. she doesnt want to get in the bath, but once you get her in she wont get out. last night i gave her the choice of a short bath and then playgroup in the morning, or a long bath in the morning and we miss group.

Re:Negotiations.................................. By Seaason 3 Years, 6 Months Ago i must be really nasty ....LOL
my only negotiations consist of "if u dont do as u are told, u wont get to swim, ride ur bike, play the PS2, go to ur friends house and so on... thats how i was brought up and i feel like i turned out fine with a healthy respect for my mothers rules.. i personally feel that when u negotiate with ur kids all the time u are relinqueshing ur authority as a parent,,, but thats just me... i know people are going to disagree with me, i dont want a debate on child rearing started because of what i have said, its just me and my way,. Re:Negotiations.................................. By Kellymarie 3 Years, 6 Months Ago Haha all 3 of those have happened at my house my parents still try & negotiate with my youngest siblings but with me & my 16 & 12 yo brothers its normally just do it now or you cant do this but i agree with Seaason i respect my parents
My mom did the same thing as Sydney Raye did i was 8 when my youngest sibling was born & i just wouldnt leave my mom alone unless she let me be there because i wanted to be the first to hold my sister but she told me i could be in the waiting room & that was it lol i hardly understood why too! In the end i stayed home because i was tired (it was 5:00 am) & i wanted to play video games with my brother as we were the only two awake so i would get more playing time & i always liked taking baths my sister not so much shes 6 now & trys her best to negotiate with them about baths but they dont budge on that! But then she wont get out even after the waters cold
