No hitting, kicing, etc
Maintaining good hygiene (Eli would never bathe if I didnt enforce this one)
Eat whats on your plate (I cannto stand it when parents cook 2, 3 different meals, if its a food allergy/intolerence issue then thats fine, but when everyone can eat whats infront of them, its just ridiculous)
Do your chores

Wow, what great moms - thanks for sharing your lists.

For me, the most important Issue that came up, that I was absolutely not allowing - and was non-debatable was:

"No son of mine, will be joining the military" I absolutely forbid my 3 sons to consider joining the military - and told them, I had not given birth the them, to be sacrificed. That was one thing I strongly put my foot down about. None of my sons challenged me on that one.

This forum is to share, not to criticize, demean, or judge our choices. We all have the right to honor our decisions, and our method of parenting. Thank you for sharing how you dealt with your challenges to parenting.

The list could go on and on:

Don't fight with your brothers.
Don't steal things from other children
Don't throw your food.................. etc.

The are very well mannered but have the occasional fit or strop but doesn't every child

We have these rules:
Do not EVER hurt other people deliberately - verbally or physically
Do not EVER make prejudice - that counts food, activities and people
I think that says it all!

Computers in the bedrooms is a non-negotiable item in our house. I told my kids for their safety, the computer will always be in the family area where anyone in the family can see who they are talking to and what is going on. There are too many sicko's out there preying on kids and their innocents. Gotta be smart to keep them safe.
